Welcome to the Port of Plymouth Regatta

26th July – 3rd August 2008
The Port of Plymouth Sailing Association (PPSA) Regatta once again welcomes the Cattewater Harbour Commission as title sponsor for the week.

Port of Plymouth Regatta Week offers superb competitive racing for all classes of dinghies and yachts in Plymouth Sound beginning on 26 July with the Champagne Race – the long distance race unique to the PPSA Regatta. Dinghy racing out of Mayflower Sailing Club is joined this year by a simultaneous series of Rookie Races from Mount Batten Centre in conjunction with Plymouth Youth Sailing for young sailors with less racing experience.

Yachts can enjoy one evening and two full days of yacht racing culminating in the Champion of Champion’s one-design race for all regatta class winners on Sunday 1 August in the Cattewater. Evening entertainment and shoreside events offered by Sutton Harbour Festival make Plymouth the place to be for families at the end of July.

The Sutton Harbour Festival Plymouth on 2/3 August is an exciting new addition to the Port of Plymouth Regatta week. With a host of shoreside events for local and visiting crews and families, Sutton Harbour is the place to be.
